Los Cristianos
The town of Los Cristianos started of life as a small fishing village but with the emergence of tourisim it rapidly expanded to what it is today. A mix of selfcatering apartments and hotels have sprung up rapidly yet it still retains some of the things that make it different from its neibour Las Americas. The fishing fleet still remains as does the church the square with the streets running of to the many shops selling everything from shoes, designer wear,perfume and cameras.You can walk along the promenade from the Arona Grand right along to harbour where there are whale watching and fishing trips the ferry also leaves for the neiboring islands. Los Cristianos boast two yellow sand blue flag beaches and you can wind surf hire pedelows and banana boats and there are trampolines etc sun loungers for hire and toilets including disabled and the beach also has wheelchair access.The promenade connects to Las Americas via Las Vistas beach theres plenty to keep you occupied during your holiday in Los Cristianos Tenerife.
Eating out. Los Cristianos can be as cheap or exspesive as you want it to be to eat out with a vast range of bars and resteraunts serving Canarin ,Chinese ,Indian ,Italian ,British and other international foods you will not be stuck for choise beer from a euro a pint . You can eat a three course meal from 6 all you can eat chinese from 6 going up to 20to30 for a full three course meal. Some of the places we eat are Margaritas across the road from Cristian sur three course meal for 8.50,and next door is Tiffanys great food from Mike and the family . Desperate dans across the road from the market and the chinese next to the Oasis Moreque the Treasure all you can eat. There is plenty choice you should not get stuck finding some good food.
The best time to visit Los Cristianos is in the first week in September when the fiesta is in full swing with a full entertainment program of live music art exhibitions and the parade with the town and the fishing boats decorated a must see. |
